Alycia + Steven Married | Temecula, CA

Samuel Cosa

Natalia and I counted down the months and the days to Alycia and Steven's Wedding. We knew it would be full of detail and treasure. The morning of Alycia and Steven's Wedding began with slight Spring drizzle in Temecula, but as the day progressed and the ceremony began, the sun shined through and stayed for the remainder of the day. There is so much we can say about this stunning couple and Wedding, but we think the photos will do a lot more justice. Simply put, Alycia and Steven's Wedding was one of the most detailed Weddings we have ever had the privilege of photographing. Alycia and Steven are perfect together - there is never a dull moment with these two. They are one of the nicest couples we have ever had the honor of capturing, and we feel so honored to have been a part of their very special Wedding Day. We hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as we did capturing them.

Blessings,

P.s. This is our largest Blog post yet, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy! :)

From the Bride:

As a third generation antique dealer I knew the traditional phrase "something old" would be more than covered on my wedding day. I stuck to that theme throughout all my wedding decor. If it wasn't old or did not resemble something vintage, it did not belong at our wedding.  Dealing in Antiques has inspired me to create re-styled jewelry, using anything vintage that I can get my hands on.  This creative passion and the love of "old" was the central inspiration of my wedding planning. As soon as my husband popped the question I began planning, or maybe earlier, for the wedding of our dreams. I did not waste anytime! He proposed on a Wednesday, and we had the location booked by Sunday. It wasn't a difficult decision. We choose the Stone House, located off the Temecula Creek Inn golf course. This historical site dates back to the late 1800's set among 300 year old oak trees. The perfect venue for my vintage wedding! That next week my mom and I began planning all the details we envisioned. We began searching our inventory and getting the word out to our other antique dealer friends that we were on the look out for certain vintage accessories to host the wedding of my dreams. The next seven months were a blur of searching and buying, from beautiful crystal chandeliers to the perfect antique buffet for my cake, to the various vintage jewelry pieces I needed to complete my bridesmaids necklaces. My mother and I have never shopped so much in our lives, it was a blast. It didn't stop at shopping, after we shopped we created! We put vintage lace on anything and everything we could, we made signs, we painted furniture, we spent endless hours creating the vision we had and having so much fun along the way. The best part about getting ready for this wedding was all the support we received. Everyone played a part in the creation of our special day.  From friends, to my dad and brother, to cousins and grandparents, everyone was working together to complete all of the decor in seven short months. When it came time for my mom and I to decide who would set up our creations and have our vision in mind we knew just the person we could trust. One of our fellow antique dealer friends and amazing artists Sylvia Asmussen. Sylvia was on the same page with us and our style of decor and when I walked into the Stone House on the day of my wedding, I could not hold back the tears. Sylvia did the most amazing job displaying our decor and she incorporated every detail I had worked so hard on for the past seven months.  It was a dream come true! The dress was one of my favorite parts of our wedding, I did not want to take it off that night. I wanted something that looked as vintage as it came, and I found the dress, well kind of. I bought my dress originally looking nothing like it looked the day of the wedding. After many alteration appointments and my creation of a sash with vintage brooches that I re-styled in rose gold, she was complete. The lace in the dress reminded me of the most beautiful antique venetion lace tablecloth I had once seen and it could not have matched the wedding theme more perfectly! When looking for flowers my mom and I did not know where to start. Somehow we stumbled upon "Splendid Sentiments" online, and that was such a blessing. We set up an appointment with Bethany and from that meeting on I knew we were in great hands. She knew exactly what I envisioned after all but one sentence came out of my mouth. She was on board for using all of the vintage glassware my mom and I had collected, she was a perfect match for us. On the day of the wedding I could have never even dreamed of more perfect flowers. Bethany and her team did such a amazing job, two weeks later people are still talking about the flowers! The cake of course had to be a vintage style as well. Debbie from "Cakes to Celebrate" was able create the cake of my dreams. The cake was made to resemble vintage lace, much like my dress, and was adorned with the perfect antique cake topper that was given to my husband and I as a gift from a fellow antique dealer and friend. The history of the wedding cake topper was so sentimental to us as it was used in her own wedding over 60 years ago, bringing us many years of marriage good luck. All the work that went into our wedding was well worth it. At one point in the evening my husband and I were able to take a step back and look at the venue put together, and the family and friends that had gathered to celebrate with us, and we realized how truly blessed we are.
